Character Design Specifications
Villages: The general populace is very wary of strangers and outright
fearful of tech in any form except the most primitive.
1)
Farmers - Usually own their own land and protect it fiercely (exceptions:
Those living near the Hellmouth who would rather run than stick up for a
plot of land)
2)
Inkeepers (and family) - Usually lives within the best kept part of town
and has the only rooms available for renting. Also usually the best place
(as with any world) to find information. Place where people caught out in
darkness will go when they need shelter. Owners and family may or may not
be aligned with the demons in the area.
3)
Blacksmith - Supplies materials for all repairs and usually /very/ religious
since he needs to leave the safty of town to look for metal to work with.
Persons usually chosen are build very strong because of the work done and
the way of life. Shop is in the center of town so it can be easily protected
in the event of attack.
4)
Shopkeepers - This varies from bakeries, to seamstress, to cobbler, to
tinker. Nearly anything that would have been found during medieval days
can be found here and their shop would be in the center of town to better
defend it. They have no warriors per se, but each man chips in should
something need defending. The further out though that you go, the less
they are inclined to help others, far too fearful to be able to do
anything but protect their own families from harm.
Cities: The cities are very tightly knit together of more intellectual
persons who have found a common goal in the defeating of the dark ones
upon the earth. They generally train warriors who will travel the
countryside seeking these demons to stamp out their lives for the sakes
of others. Usually very controlled men or women who have made their whole
lives this single task.
1)
Demonologists - Men or women who's main course of study would be the
demonkind and how best to get rid of them from the planet. Mainly stay
behind in the cities in order to further persue this course of study and
since they are very important to further the cause.
2)
Mages - These persons study magick in an effort to understand how the
original break was created and how to fix it. They sometimes do wander
away from the cities gathering information as well as helping those in need.
3)
Warriors/Hunters - These persons are taken at a young age when it is seen
that they have the talents for this lifestyle. They are trained in various
weapons and customs of the lands of the world and then once the training is
complete, sent out to track and/or hunt down demons in whatever form they have
taken. Their lives are for this goal and they understand the danger they place
themselves in taking it on.
4)
The Unhomed - Generally this term refers to all the persons who really
don't settle in one place for long. They are like gypsies and are the
outcasts of towns or even of cities. They can be mixed groups. Such as it
could contain warriors who have left service as well as mages, farmers,
or merchants of some kind. Their sole means of survival is to travel and
entertain since they have no singple place to call home and must live off
the charity of others. If any have actual 'magickal' gifts, they use them
sparingly and only in such a way as they can't be deemed a devil or demon.
Since they have no home, they are often looked at with suspicion, but also
allowed to entertain within a town's boundaries so long as they follow the
rules set forth for them. It's a harsh way to live, but the only one they
have.
5)
Demons - These creatures are application only and must be discussed with
the admin in charge of that area for concept and ability to fit into the
realm. Because the demons are nearly capable of anything, but also have
specific traits that make them individual, careful consideration must be
taken before someone will be allowed to play one. Each applicant will be
reviewed on a case by case basis.
